The Role
We're looking for a Founding Product Engineer who can bridge the gap between what's technically possible and what developers actually need. This isn't just about writing code—it's about deeply understanding our users, obsessing over their experience, and building features that make their lives genuinely better.
What You'll Do
You'll own end-to-end product development from concept to launch:
- Build user-facing features: From our dashboard and CLI to developer APIs and integrations
- Shape product direction: Your insights and user research will directly influence our roadmap
- Craft exceptional UX: Design and implement interfaces that feel effortless, even when the underlying systems are complex
- Talk to users: Conduct user interviews, gather feedback, and iterate based on real developer needs
- Drive full-stack development: Work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure to deliver complete solutions
- Own metrics: Define success metrics, instrument features, and use data to validate product decisions
Technical Stack
- Frontend: Next.js/React with TypeScript, TailwindCSS
- Backend: Python/Django, Go for performance-critical services
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes, container orchestration, cloud-native systems
- Tools: PostHog for analytics, Linear for planning, Figma for design

- Product intuition: You have a gut feeling for what makes good products and can articulate why something works or doesn't
- Full-stack capability: Comfortable building across the entire stack, from pixel-perfect UI to robust backend APIs
- User empathy: You genuinely care about making developers' lives better and can put yourself in their shoes
- Strong technical foundation: Can architect features that are both delightful to use and solid under the hood
- Execution speed: You ship fast, iterate quickly, and aren't paralyzed by perfectionism
The Right Person
- Genuinely curious: You're fascinated by how developers work and what makes their experience better or worse
- Product thinker: You don't just implement tickets—you question requirements, propose alternatives, and think holistically about the user journey
- Data-informed, not data-driven: You use metrics to validate intuition, not replace it
- Great communicator: You can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders and product decisions to engineers
- Opinionated but flexible: You have strong convictions but change your mind when presented with new evidence
Nice to Have (Optional)
- Experience building developer tools or platforms
- Prior work in early-stage startups
- Design sensibilities and Figma skills
- Open source contributions or side projects that show your product sense

Compensation Structure
Important: This role starts as equity-only for the first 3 months, transitioning to competitive salary + equity after that period.
- Months 1-3: Equity-only compensation
- Month 4+: Market-rate salary + meaningful equity
- Equity details: 4-year vesting
